Twelve suspects arrested at copper wire factory

The STF had arrested 12 suspects who had been engaged in manufacturing the bombs that were detonated under the disguise of working at a copper wire factory in the Avissawella area. Among those arrested were nine Pakistani’s and three Indians. They were arrested based on a tip-off.

Although they had claimed to be working at an electrical shop in Avissawella, upon investigation the Police had discovered that these claims were false. They were all arrested at around 2.45 last afternoon and were expected to be handed over to the CID.

Meanwhile, the Police had arrested two suspects from the Dematagoda area yesterday and another suspect from the Dambulla area. The total number of suspects arrested yesterday alone was 15.
