Two netted with fake notes

Two suspects, who kept Rs. 5,000 fake notes in their possession, were taken into custody by Chavakachcheri Police on Thursday.

According to the police, the two suspects were nabbed when they were seen loitering in Kaithadi in Chavakachcheri. The arrest was made on a tip-off.

Police found 20 fake notes of Rs. 5000 denomination in the possession of the suspects.

The suspects, between 23 to 26 years, are residents of Vavuniya.

They are to be produced before the Chawakachcheri Magistrate’s Courts by Chawakachcheri Police.

Police are investigating.
