Murder case: two nabbed, firearm, ammo seized

Two men aged 19 and 20 were nabbed by officers of the Law Empowerment Unit, Kelaniya in connection with the murder of Dinesh Sanjaya alias Manna Manju of St. Sylvester Road, Mount Lavinia last month, Police said.

Manna Manju was shot and killed by an unidentified individual who had arrived in a motorcycle on July 21.

A T-56 firearm and 31 live ammunition were also seized from the suspects' possession. The suspects have been identified as residents of Dehiwela and Mount Lavinia.

The suspects are being questioned under a 72 hours detention order.

Peliyagoda Police are investigating.
