Vidyakara Girls’ School granted 2nd instalment of Rs. 2 Mn from SFI

Saeeda Foundation Institute (SFI) headed by former Member of the Western Provincial Council Nowzer Fowzie donated the second instalment of Rs. 2 million out of the estimated total cost of Rs. 5 million required for renovation work of the main auditorium and its two storey building of Maharagama Vidyakara Girls’ School.

Maharagama Vidyakara Girls’ School having a history of more than 100 years received this donation from the Head of Saeeda Foundation Institute at the request of Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC.

The donation was handed over by the Minister of Justice to the Principal of Maharagama Vidyakara Girls’ School on Sunday (24). A total of Rs. 4 million has already been handed over to the school by the Saeeda Foundation and the balance Rs. 1 million will be handed over to the school in the near future, the Justice Minister told the ‘Daily News’ on Tuesday (26).

Former Provincial Councillor Nowzer Fowzie also joined in this event.
