NO ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ sequel in works

If you loved Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji’s 2005 film ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ and were hoping for a sequel to the film soon, you might be in for some disappointment. Abhishek Bachchan recently revealed that he hasn’t been approached for the second installment of ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ yet.

While talking to PTI, Abhishek said, “Soon after the release of the film in 2005, Aditya Chopra, the producer of the film, was very keen that we do a sequel but he did not have a story at that point of time.” When asked if a sequel could be in the works anytime soon, the actor added, “Would he want to make a sequel? At that point of time, he did. If Adi finds a story that is worthy and he wants us to do it, he will let us know. As of now I can’t say anything.”

The story of the film directed by Shaad Ali was based on the journey of two small towners who flee their home to make a name for themselves and end up as fraudsters.
