Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara has taken steps to call for DNA records of the family members of Anula Ratnayake, who died due to the ongoing conflict in Israel as her daughter has raised suspicion whether the body of the deceased woman is her mother’s.

Accordingly, steps have been taken to call for the DNA reports of Anula Ratnayake’s daughter, son and mother as well as her sister who is currently working in Kuwait, and yesterday (22) the samples have been provided for that, the Sri Lankan Ambassador said.

The International Division of the Israeli Police has informed the Embassy of Sri Lanka that Anula Ratnayake has died, but her daughter has claimed that her mother is alive, Nimal Bandara said.

The Ambassador pointed out that people of 15 villages in the Gaza Strip have been evacuated and those people are temporarily given shelter in hotels under the control of the Israeli Government.
