Fox Hill Supercross to reverberate hills
The most spectacular racing event of Sri Lanka’s mator racing calendar, the Fox Hill Super Cross 2014, organized by the The Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) and conducted by Sri Lanka Auto-sports Drivers Association (SLADA) will be held on April 19 at the picturesque Diyatalawa track.
The 22nd episode of the thrilling racing event will see more than 200 drivers and riders steering their machines in the misty mountain track which is home to the Sri Lanka Military Academy.
The Fox Hill Supercross is one of the most popular annual sporting events in Sri Lanka, usually topping over 80,000 spectators.
Adding to the thrill, a number of competitors from overseas also are expected to show up on the race day.
According to organizers, two leading racing drivers from India have been invited and three top Indian riders are among the confirmed participation.

This season, Mohammed Balooshi, a UAE born rider ranked top 20 in International Motorcycling Federation Cross Country World Championship 2012, sponsored by Red Bull, will help in the track design and conduct workshops and demonstrations for local competitors.
The championship races are, Group SL-GT up to 3500 cc and Group SL-H up to 1600 cc in the motor car category and Group MX-Racing Motocross bikes up to 125 cc 2 Stroke, up to 250 cc 4 stroke and Group MX-Racing Motocross up to 85 cc (under 16 years as at December 31) in the motorcycle category. Sri Lanka Military Academy commandant Brigadier Indunil Ranasinghe, addressing the media at the occasion, said that the funds collected will exclusively be used to develop the infrastructure and training facilities of the Academy to be on a par with other Military Academies in the region.
CEAT, CEYPETCO, Singer, Coca Cola and Elephant house are the sponsors of the event, joining hands with SLMA to hold a successful event while Associated Newspapers of Ceylon is the official print media partner.
