The Police has deployed sufficient strength to support the conduct of a free and fair Uva Provincial Council election today, said Police Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Ajith Rohana. He said stern action will be taken against those who breach the election law irrespective of their status. He said the processions of people, vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles have been banned in the Uva Province from 6 a.m. yesterday until two days after the election.
