Gagan promoted Air Chief Marshal

Former Air Force Commander Gagan Bulathsinghala has been promoted to the rank of Air Chief Marshal from yesterday, Defence Ministry sources told the Daily News yesterday.

Bulathsinghala joined the Sri Lanka Air Force as an Officer Cadet in 1981 and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in the General Duties Pilot Branch in 1983.

He has the honour of being the VVIP pilot for four Sri Lankan Presidents J.R.Jayewardene, Ranasinghe Premadasa, D.B.Wijetunga and Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

An old student of Nalanda College, Colombo, Gagan Bulathsinghala retired on Monday after completing 33 years service in the Sri Lanka Air Force
