Missing Sri Lankan pilgrim found: Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The elderly Sri Lankan pilgrim who went missing after landing at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport was found, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed.

In a statement, the MFA said: ‘The Sri Lanka High Commission in Delhi confirms that missing Sri Lankan pilgrim has been traced, is well and has re-joined pilgrim group.’

Ramanayaka Mudiyanselage Jayasekara, a resident of Mahiyangana, in his late 60s or early 70s had arrived at the T-3 Terminal of the IGI airport from Colombo at 6.45 PM on Thursday, along with a group of around 80 Buddhist pilgrims.

He was last seen on CCTV footage near gate number 18 of the Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport, and had gone missing thereafter.
