MR resorted to black magic during tail end of tenure: Sumanadasa

Astrologer Sumanadasa Abeygunawardena revealed that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa during his latter stage in office resorted to various black-magic without his knowledge and carved and pricked thorns to a statue of common candidate Maithripala Sirisena.

He made these revelations to Social Empowerment and Welfare Deputy Minister Ranjan

Ramanayake via phone in between a media conference at the Parliament Members’ Housing Complex in Madiwela, Kotte.

The deputy minister allowed the media to listen in to the conversation.

Ramanayaka pointed out the former President had ruined the Lankaputhra Development Bank by giving out loans to his close associates.

He said the bank which had a capital of Rs. 8 billion had given loans upto Rs. 7 billion on political requests.

Ramanayaka said Rs. 2 billion out of them could be termed as default loans.

The deputy minister said family members of politicians, a comic actor and an astrologer were among the many who received loans from this bank.

When contacted by Ramanayake to inquire about the astrologer who had obtained a loan from the Lankaputhra bank, Abeygunawardena said it was not him.

He said the former President had obtained the service of a large number of astrologers.
