MR makes another visit to PRECIFAC

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) yesterday.

He arrived at the Commission for the inquiry on the alleged default in payment of money to the ITN for his advertisements during the 2015 Presidential Election campaign. At present there is a need for a new political party as there is no Opposition party in the country. All belonging to a same party in Parliament and there is no one to represent the public view. It is not fair, Rajapaksa said.

"The present government is following a very hostile course . They are trying to develop the country while pushing the public to the road. There is no visible development throughout the last year. They are spending money but nothing has happened yet," he added.

"Some people are trying to push me out of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), but it will not be as easy as they think, he stated while answering questions of media personal. The former President had been summoned by the PRECIFAC for the hearing over nonpayment of outstanding bills to the ITN for his advertisements during the 2015 Presidential Election period.

He was summoned by the PRECIFAC earlier too on several occasions.
