Bahu wants JVP to haul corrupt Minister before the Commission

Newspapers reported that a very powerful minister who held a Ministerial portfolio during the previous regime was called to the Bribery and Corruption Commission on eight occasions but he did not turn up. He is postponing appearing before the Commission using his powers he holds in the current regime. Now it is up to the JVP to bring him before the law, Leader of the New Left Front, Dr. Wickramabahu Karunaratne said.

Addressing media in Colombo yesterday he said that this powerful Minister is a big shot in this Government and he is using his political power to ignore the law. The New Left Front asked JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake whether he will catch this powerful Cabinet Minister. “We believe that the JVP will catch this restless animal. The JVP did a significant load of work towards getting justice done for various acts of corruption and malpractices that took place in the past and still doing their work. They are now having the power in the COPE. According to Dr. Karunaratne, the JVP can easily and successfully do it because the university students who were always with them are now holding high positions in various institutions.

They are the officials who have all the information and who are giving such important information on corruption and malpractices to the JVP. Therefore the JVP can easily catch the culprits.
