Opener Nishan Madushka the inform batter made an unbeaten 107 in 85 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes while left arm paceman Dilshan Madushanka had a fine spell of 4 for 33 as Sri Lanka’ A’ team recorded an easy 7 wickets win over South Africa ‘ A’ in their second One day cricket fixture of the three match series played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
It was a fine knock by Madushka the right hand opener who was in good touch with Test cricket this time reminded selectors his good form with ODI format. He scored a half century (63) in the first South Africa’ A’ game at this same venue and yesterday he scored an unbeaten century. All rounder Sahan Arachchige also played a good supporting role to make an unbeaten knock of 50 in 55 balls with 6 fours and Sri Lanka’ A ‘team reached their easy target in only 29 overs with 21 overs to spare.
Earlier South Africa’ A ‘was bundled out for 175 in 43.2 overs as Tristan Stubbs (59) and Gerald Coetzee (77) made good knocks while others were failed to make good contributions. The paceman Dilshan Madushanka was the pick of the bowlers taking 4 for 33 in his 9 over spell well supported by Janith Liyanage and Sahan Arachchige who took two wickets apiece.
The two teams will meet their deciding third and final game tomorrow (8) at the same venue Pallekele.
