Our plans were well executed and had an easy victory in the second ODI and we want to continue our winning form to win the series said Sri Lankan cricket team Assistant coach and batting specialist coach Naveed Nawaz at Mahinda Rajapaksa International cricket stadium Hambantota after their training session yesterday.

we couldn’t execute our plans as we expected in the first ODI at this same venue but it was very well worked out to win the second game and level the series and we want to continue the same form today in this deciding game said Nawaz.

At the second game our top order batters did well and their approach to the game was good. After 30 overs we had more then 135 runs losing only two wickets .Then we took a risk and go for runs easily to put big pressure against opponent bowlers . Especially Sadeera Samarawickrama played very positively from the first ball and eased the pressure from Kusal Mendis and that partnership guided us to make a good total said Nawaz .Asked about Kusal Janith Perera ‘ s injury Nawaz said that he had not got the official report.

Our intention is to get maximum runs and over 300 runs from 300 balls and reduce the dot balls which worked out smoothly in the second ODI and we want to continue that performance said former D.S Senanayake College skipper and NCC batsman Naveed Nawaz who was the Bangladesh under 19 world cup winning coach.

Our key paceman Dushmantha Chameera came back last game after eight months due to injury and he has showed his potential and we wanted to protect Chameera to get maximum service to the team added Nawaz.

Especially we are focused on opponent players. Rashid Khan the key leggie will play but our team not bothered about players name and we want to play against him and getting runs against him is our plan and all our team players are very committed and supporting staff always back the team to get success said Nawaz.

Especially we have special dietitian and phychologist with the team and their service is very important to the team and this requirement was not with the team earlier and plan to get their maximum support said Nawaz who is concerned about players batting .

Sri Lanka most probably will make one change today to add paceman Lahiru Kumara for Kasun Rajitha and Lahiru was injured in the first game and he is coing back after recovery and got training yesterday . Afghanistan who lost the second game by a huge margin wanted to make good plan by adding their key spinner Rashid khan while opener Ibrahim Zadran the most consistent batter is the key player and his early exit is the key plan of the Sri Lanka team . Both teams were engaged in their final training session yesterday and set to name final eleven today morning.

Meanwhile the National selection committee was due to select final 15 players squad for the World cup qualifying tournament yesterday night and the Zimbabwe tournament will commence on June 18.
