Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana once again excelled at the Golf arena when he emerged victorious at the inaugural Dialog Sri Lanka Golf Open Invitational PRO-AM teed-off at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) on Thursday .
The Air Force Commander fended off a stiff challenge from Rohan De Silva, President of the Nuwareliya Golf Club and Ravi Liyanage, CEO of Janashakthi Insurance Ltd, to secure the Dialog CEO’s Cup with 41 stableford points.
The Dialog Sri Lanka Open Invitational PRO-AM tourney which runs concurrently with the Dialog Sri Lanka Open 2023 concluded at the RCGC. Earlier Air Force Commander Air Marshall Sudarshana Pathirana won the nearest to the pin award at the Eagles Quadrangle Cup Trophy Golf Tournament which was played at China Bay, the closest to the harbour city of Trincomalee last month and he was highlighted once again this Dialog Sri Lanka Golf Open Invitational PRO-AM at RCGC.
The unique event providing an opportunity for top cooperate leaders to play with leading professionals from Asia who missed the cut of the Sri Lanka Open 2023. Excellent golf was served and Prakara Asawa, a pro golfer from India won the pro event scoring 37 points beating GM Pradeep Kumara, Sri Lanka’s national coach and pro golfer after a countback. (D.R)
