Over 800 buses for Anuradhapura Poson festival from June 2 to 4

The Sri Lanka Transport Board has taken steps to deploy 400 additional buses in Anuradhapura for the convenience of pilgrims participating in the Poson Festival. It was revealed by the Poson Festival Committee that a large number of pilgrims would arrive in to Anuradhapura to participate in the Poson Festival this year on June 2, 3 and 4. “Currently, there are about 400 buses in the North Central Province. 

They run daily under Anuradhapura, Horowpathana, Kabithigollewa, Kekirawa, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, Diyasenpura (sub) and Kantale depots. In addition, 400 more buses will be brought from outside areas,” an official of the Sri Lanka Transport Board said.

He further said that steps have been taken to run the Anuradhapura-Mihintale special bus service round the clock on June 2,3,4 and 5 for the Poson festival.

The North Central Road Passenger Transport Authority also runs private buses according to a schedule.
