A special team of Police officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested three persons including a beautician in Kandy for forging letter heads of the Attorney General’s Department and preparing fake documents.
The CID team who had gone to Kandy from Colombo had carried out the arrest on March 25 with the assistance of the Cyber Crimes Special Unit located in Kandy. The 47-year-old beautician is a resident of Senerathgama, Katugastota.
The second person who was arrested is a resident of Sumangala Mawatha, Asigiriya, Kandy. The CID said that he is 48 years of age and works as an electrician.
The third person is a 54-year-old businessman from Mahaiyawa, Kandy. During investigations it has been revealed that these three suspects had forged letter heads of the Attorney General’s Department and used the AG’s signature and official seal which were false and prepared fake documents. The CID said that they had used these fake documents as well.
