Loan scheme for private uni students to Cabinet next week

Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha told Parliament yesterday (24) that the loan scheme for higher education for students of non-government universities will be submitted for the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers next week.

The approval of the Finance Ministry has been received for providing this loan scheme. This loan scheme has been extended to more than 5,000 students not only by the Bank of Ceylon but also by three other banks.

The Education Minister said that the necessary regulations will be issued after the coming Monday.
