Rajans-Kingswood big match on Friday and Saturday

All set for the Kandy’s oldest big match “Battle of the Maroons between Dharmaraja College led by Thisaru Wanninayake and Kingswood College led by Amesh Rupasinghe. This much awaited big match will be played on Friday and Saturday at the Pallekele Internatioanl Stadium. This will be the 116th encounter played for the T.B. Tennakoon trophy. Out of the 115 games played Dharmaraja are ahead with 33 wins, last win in 2015 and Kingswood College have 19 wins last win in 1958 and the rest of the matches have been drawn. So, this year it should be good game of cricket if the weather permits.

Three schoolboys from Kandy in under 19 team

Three schoolboys from Kandy, Theeraka Ranatunge a left arm orthodox spinner and a good bat, Manula Kularatne a right-hand bat and a left arm pace bowler of Trinity College and Traveen Mathew a right-hand bat and right arm off spinner of St. Anthony’s College These three young cricketers have made Kandy proud by being selected to the Sri Lanka under 19 cricket side, to take part in the Tri-Nation one-day cricket tournament in Abu Dhabi. They left with the Squad last Wednesday.

KCC at their best in under 23

Kandy Cricket Club who are in peak form in the invitation under 23 cricket tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Cricket have won six games out of seven.

Thanks to efforts of Kandy CC’s chief official Janaka Pathirane who has given his best support for the team to do well. Kandy CC are heading the Group “A” league matches, out of the eight games played won seven, lost one and are heading the table with 21 points. Thanks to some of the players like Malith , Khanaka, Lahiru, Dinusha, Mohamed, Imesh, Yohan, Kavinshka, Charith, Dinuka, Shashika for giving their best and are sure to continue the good work in the coming games.
