Dollar reserve has reached US$ 2 Bn under President - UNP

President Ranil Wickremesinghe managed to increase the country’s dollar reserve from zero to two billion dollars in a few months, Baratha Tennakoon,

the UNP organizer for the Dambadeniya electorate said.

He questioned how the opposition is asking such a President to step down.

Inflation, which was 70 percent when President Wickremesinghe took over the country, has reduced to 54 percent during this period, he added. He also said that during this period remittances have increased and tourism has picked up.

He said that the international community is supporting Sri Lanka’s bid to get financial assistance from the IMF, he added.
