Bar owner killed by brother-in-law over property

It has been revealed in the post-mortem examination that the millionaire businessman, who is the owner of a liquor bar, was killed by his brother-in-law in a house in Mount Lavinia by slitting his throat. The police say that it appears that the businessman Thilina Beruwalage (54) was killed over a property dispute.The businessman’s wife’s brother, Dinesh Suranga, has been identified as having committed the murder. The police say that he committed the murder after having liquor with the murdered businessman on Tuesday.

The suspect is a resident of Kelaniya. Police said that he has fled and is in hiding.
