Investigations have revealed that a Police Special Task Force Sergeant and his friend who were staying at a house in Udawala, Dambadeniya were hacked to death on Sunday night (15) regarding a dispute over a woman.
The deceased are Police Sergeant Mahesh Bandara (41) and K.K. Pushpakumara (39).
The Giriulla Police stated that both of them are residents of Udiyawala, Dambadeniya.
The Police also say that this double murder took place in the house of the Sergeant of the Police Special Task Force.
Giriulla Police say that the two suspects involved in the double murder were arrested along with the sharp weapons used in the murder.
Police say that the two suspects who are residents of Dambadeniya had broken into the house while the Police Special Task Force Sergeant and his friend were consuming alcohol and had an argument regarding a woman. Later the two suspects had attacked them with sharp weapons and fled. The victims had succumbed at the Dambadeniya Hospital. Police are investigating.
