Half day holiday for SL-India first ODI

The Assam government announced a half day Holiday in Kamrup Metropolitan district today in view of the India-Sri Lanka ODI match in Guwahati which is scheduled to commence from 2pm.

All state government offices and educational institutions in the district will be closed at 1 pm today, according to a notification issued last Sunday. The Sri Lanka – India ODI today is the second ODI at this venue as the first ODI between India and West Indies was played on 21st October 2018 and India won by eight wickets.

The governor of Assam is pleased to declare half day local holiday on 10th January, 2023 within the Kamrup (Metro) district on the occasion of ODI match between India and Sri Lanka to be held on 10/01/2023 at Barsapara ACA Cricket Stadium, Guwahati,” it said.

Guwahati, in the Kamrup Metropolitan district, will host the first game of the three-match ODI series between the two countries. India captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have arrived in the city for the match on Sunday morning while other Indian team members and the Sri Lankan team were arrived in Guwahati on Sunday evening. The two teams were scheduled to practice at the stadium yesterday evening.
