Defending champion Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha will meet Devapathiraja College Rathgama in the final of the Under 19 Girl’s Division One Inter Schools Cricket tournament today (20) at Ananda Mawatha Colombo.
This tournament is conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and sponsored by Sri Lanka Cricket. Six teams named Devapathiraja College Rathgama, Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha (A), Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda, Wadduwa Central College, Princes of Wales College Moratuwa, Vijayabahu Maha Vidyalaya Okkampitiya participated.
Devapathiraja College and Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya (A) led the points table and advanced to the final. Devapathiraja College recorded four wins in four matches.
Devapathiraja College beat Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya (A), Wadduwa Central College, Vijayabahu Maha Vidyalaya Okkampitiya and Princes of Wales College Moratuwa in the first round. Defending champion Rathnawali is at the second place in the points table with four wins against Wadduwa Central College, Vijayabahu Maha Vidyalaya Okkampitiya, their arch rival Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda and Princes of Wales College Moratuwa in five matches after the first round. They lost against Devapathiraja College.
Rathnawali Balika (A) will be led by Sri Lanka National cap Vishmi Gunarathne and Devapathiraja College Rathgama will be led by Sri Lanka under 19 cap Vihara Sewwandi De Silva.
