Super luxury bus topples injuring 23 passengers

Twenty three passengers were injured when a super luxury bus, which was heading to Colombo from Jaffna, overturned in Kilinochchi last morning. Police said that the accident could have occurred due to poor visibility on the road as a result of the heavy rains experienced in the area. Police also said the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.  

The injured were admitted to the Kilinochchi hospital and the condition of two of them was serious. The bus was badly damaged.

Police said the drivers, who are exhausted due to long distance travel at night, tend to fall asleep while driving.
