Racket at BMC over purchases goes to FCIB

The Building Materials Corporation (BMC) has lodged a complaint with the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau (CFIB) regarding  a fraud involving purchasing building materials at a low price and using forged documents and seals to show a higher price.

It is stated in the complaint that this fraud has been committed under the scheme of selling building materials to consumers at a subsidized rate.

Several official seals and letterheads of the suppliers used for the fraud have been taken into police custody.

The complaint has been made by the Deputy General Manager of the Building Materials Corporation.
