Rs.169 Mn allocated to develop botanical gardens

The Tourism and Land Ministry has allocated Rs.169 million for the next year to develop the botanical gardens in Sri Lanka as tourists attracting destinations.

Accordingly, the botanical gardens such as Mirijjawila, Seethawaka,  Peradeniya and Hakgala will be developed under this programme.

In addition, the budget 2023 has allocated Rs.30 million to develop the tourist attractions in the country next year. The budget has also proposed to promote maritime tourism in the country at a cost of Rs.50 million.
