A female teacher of a school in Horana who allegedly went to the residence of a 15-year-old male student and sexually abused him was ordered to be remanded until December 6 by the Horana Magistrate’s Court.
The remanded teacher is a 42-year-old mother of three and she is also the class teacher of the victim student. The mother and father of the student are abroad and police say that the student was staying with the mother’s sister.
The teacher is said to have come to the house while she was away. When she came home the teacher had been there. Later due to suspicions about the teacher’s behaviour, the aunt had checked his mobile phone and found several explicit messages sent by the teacher.
A complaint had been lodged after that and the boy has been sent for a medical examination.
