Hotel owner involved in drug trafficking shot

A shooter who broke into a hotel near the Dewundara Temple on Monday (28) shot the owner and fled.

Police say that no one was injured in the shooting and the hotel owner was saved as he ran away when he was shot.

Police say that the owner of the hotel was released on bail last April after being imprisoned for drug trafficking.

Investigations have also revealed that the owner of this hotel, who is also the owner of multi-day fishing vessel, has leased the hotel.

But the police say that he is spending his evenings there helping the employees.

The police are investigating.
