Former Minister pushes out CEB men on mission

The Cinnamon Gardens Police have started an investigation regarding a complaint against  a former Minister for scolding two employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) who had gone to a house yesterday (23) to disconnect the power supply of the house. The former Minister who now resides in the house has been accused of pushing the two officials out of the gate. They had gone to disconnect the power supply of the house in Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7 due to non-payment of electricity bills.

A complaint was lodged at the Cinnamon Garden Police Station by a junior technical assistant working in the Colombo South CEB office.

As mentioned in the complaint at the police station, two persons including the former Minister had shouted at the official and the driver of the vehicle and pushed them out of the gate.

A senior police officer said that the owner of the house is not the former MP and he is only a resident there.
