A police mobile patrol acting upon a call to hotline 119 regarding a family dispute had arrested a man from a house at Molkawa Road, Bulathsinhala.

They had taken him to the police station and detained him in a cell. After a few minutes, the police officers saw a dog lying near the cell. Although they had chased the dog away several times it kept coming back. The police later found out that it was the pet dog of the man behind bars.

After the officer in charge of the police station arrived the police had opened the cell to take the suspect out and the dog had immediately rushed to its master.

When officers took the suspect to see the OIC, the dog had followed them into the OIC’s room as well.

The OIC had released the suspect after a severe warning and the police said the dog had barked showing its delight. The dog after that had left with its master to go back home.
