World Bank forwarded to help resolve food issue in pre-school sector – Geetha

Women and Chid Affairs State Minister Geetha Kumarasinghe said that the World Bank has come forward to secure the food issue in the pre-school sector

Providing breakfast to 155,000 children and financial assistance to 37,500 children will commence soon. It will continue until December 2023.

The request to provide food and financial assistance was made by the State Minister on November 15 during a discussion with the World Bank delegation at the Setshiripaya. The World Bank representatives had responded it positively. Regional Director, Human Development Division Leon D. Brun-Benz, Country Manager - Maldives and Sri Lanka Vio Kanda and several officials representing the Ministry and the World Bank participated in this discussion.
