Sri Lanka needs to come up with a proper global marketing campaign to showcase the best that country has to offer, Browns Hotels and Resorts- Group General Manager Eksath Wijeratne said.

Noting that much was needed to be done to create awareness among the global audience on what Sri Lanka has to offer, Wijeratne said the country required positive publicity outside to take the industry to the next level.

Speaking on major challenges that hamper the growth of the industry, Wijeratne cited negative publicity as the major constraint.

Apart from that Wijeratne said finding the right talent to cater to the needs of tourists has become a major challenge in Sri Lanka in the face of people leaving the country seeking better career opportunities.

According to Wijeratne it takes at least 4-5 years to train a steward in a proper manner. Commenting on hotel booking numbers for the winter season, Wijeratne said,“We are looking at improving numbers.”

Meanwhile the spa at Club Hotel Dolphin in Waikkal was ceremoniously opened on October 27. This state-of-the-art facility was the latest addition to the hotel further to the extensive renovations that took place earlier this year.

The spa includes four well-appointed treatment rooms and is fitted with a steam room and sauna.

The spa is operated in partnership with Balinese Ayu Spas a renowned spa operator in the country and all treatments will be carried out by highly-skilled Balinese masseuses.Inspired by Balinese healing traditions, the spa treatmentsat Club Hotel Dolphin are carefully designed to nurture and revitalize one’s body, mind and spirit.

Wijeratne commented, “Our spa at Club Hotel Dolphin gives an added convenience to all of the guests staying with us, as well as to our loyal patrons from the area. There is no longer a need to travel all the way to Colombo to get world-class spa services.”

This addition gives Club hotel Dolphin a unique edge –everything you can possibly need made available all in one place; from accommodation on par with global industry standards and ultra-modern amenities, 2 outdoor swimming pools, 4 bars, 2 restaurants, 2 cafes, a conferencing venue, spa fitted with a sauna and steam room, fully-fledged gymnasium and a kids’ club.

The hotel also hosts a range of indoor and outdoor activities including badminton, tennis, beach volleyball, archery, squash, pool, billiards, chess, darts, table tennis, carom and a variety of board games to ensure there’s never a dull moment.
