Special fuel pass for tourists visiting country - Minister

Sri Lanka could expect a record number of tourists in December if not interrupted by agenda driven political groups, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando said.

Minister Fernando also said that a special fuel pass will be provided to the tourists who visit the country.

Minister Fernando made this observation in reply to a question raised by Galle district MP Sampath Athukorale in Parliament yesterday (5). Minister Fernando noted that there are certain “time wasting” groups who hinder the development of the country and “if they can mind their own business without making any disruptions”, Sri Lanka could expect a historical number of tourist inflow to the country.

Some of these groups are holding conferences to improve Sri Lanka’s tourism industry while telling the world that its citizens are going through a serious food crisis, he said.
