Over 80 top golfers from all parts of the country will be vying for honours when the Inaugural Eagles’ Monsoon Cup Three-day Golf Tournament 2022, gets underway on September 30 at the Air Force Golf Links in China Bay, close to the Harbour City of Trincomalee.
This event will be conducted by Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), to fill the gap of golfing events that are held during the monsoon season and is sponsored by Huawei Technologies Lanka Company (Pvt) Limited. The prime goal in organising this event is to uplift the sport, which saw a decline in the past few years due to the pandemic and other national challenges.
In addition to the Eagles’ Monsoon Cup, the golfers will also vie for the Eagles’ Monsoon Defence Challenge Trophy which is awarded to the best serving player from the Sri Lankan Tri-Forces. Assistant Vice-President of Huawei Technologies Lanka Company (Pvt) Limited, Supun Manamperi said: “We are honoured to partner with SLAF to make this prestigious golf tournament a success.”

In addition, Trinco Blu by Cinnamon have come aboard as the hospitality partner for the tournament. The Air Force Golf Links is an 18-hole course that offers nearly seven kilometres of challenging golf for a par of 72, creating a stunning environment for an unforgettable game of golf.
