Preparing animal feed using rice suitable for human consumption: Five people to appear Court

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has ordered five people including the Deputy Director of Tambuttegama Niraviya Government Animal Farm to appear before the Tambuttegama Magistrate’s Court in connection with the incident of preparing animal feed using rice suitable for human consumption.

The supplier who supplied rice suitable for human consumption for the preparation of animal feed has also been ordered to appear before the court on the 16th of this month.

A large stock of animal feed prepared using rice suitable for human consumption and more than ten thousand kilos of rice imported to this country from India suitable for human consumption, which was stored for the preparation of animal food, was detected by CAA officials recently.
