School academic activities limited to 3 days until further notice

The education authorities have decided to limit academic activities in schools to three days from Monday (8) until further notice.

Accordingly, Government schools and Government approved private schools will conduct academic activities only on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday,

in the week starting from this Monday, similar to the manner in which schools operated during the last few weeks. However, as Thursday, August 11 will be a public holiday, schools will be held on Wednesday (10) also. Accordingly, schools will be held continuously from Monday to Wednesday only in the coming week. This decision was reached at a discussion held online at the Education Ministry with the participation of the Education Minister, Education Secretary and Ministry officials yesterday regarding the holding of schools from next week. The Education Ministry advised that on Wednesdays and Fridays, students can engage in learning activities from home through online technology.

However, schools may be held on all five days including Wednesdays and Fridays with the consent of principals, teachers and approval of the Zonal Education Director in schools where there are no transportation difficulties. Considering the conditions and human resources at schools, a flexible timetable can be prepared so that every teacher can come to school on at least three days a week and carry out teaching activities.
