Proper system needed to maintain essential services: SASA

The Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association (SASA) says that if the law is not enforced against those staff members of the Matara General Hospital who inconvenienced the Matara Divisional Secretary and the Kurunegala Mayor who obstructed the duties of the secretary to the North Western Province Governor, they will take strict professional action.

The Association notes that the Government has failed to protect public officials who engage in their duty regardless of the risk to their lives to maintain essential services.

The Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association says that a proper mechanism should be established by a competent authority to maintain the essential services and the current situation in the country cannot be managed under normal conditions.
