Ted Muttiah continues to head CR and FC

Former Royal College Skipper, Kandy SC, CR and FC and Sri Lanka centre Ted Hiran Muttiah was re-elected president of CR and FC at their 93rd Annual General Meeting held recently.

Muttiah played for Royal College from 1980-1982 captaining in the final year. After the season he turned out for Kandy SC in the SLRFU knock-out Trophy tournament. In the following year he crossed over to CR and FC and played for the Red Shirts in 1983 and 1984 playing a major role in helping them to clinch the SLRFU President's Trophy tournament in 1983 and Premadasa Trophy in 1984. He was rewarded by being picked to play for Sri Lanka at the Rugby Asiad in Fukuoka City Japan in 1984 and had a memorable debut by scoring two splendid tries against Malaysia to give Sri Lanka its only win by 14-12.

He migrated to Australia in 1985 and returned to Sri Lanka a few years ago. He has done a lot to promote women's rugby in Sri Lanka in the last few years.

Former Trinity College Skipper and CR and FC Number eight Tikiri Ellepola was elected Deputy President of the Club while former Thomian and CR and FC skipper of 2000 Savantha de Saram and ex-Antonian and 1994 CR and FC captain Shanitha Fernando are the two vice presidents of the club while former Josephian Jakque Diasz continues as the Secretary.

Former Royal Skipper Zulker Hamid was elected Assistant Secretary while Ravi Edirisinghe is the Treasurer.
