Dengue on the rise in Batticaloa

Dengue is on the rise in Batticaloa. From the month of May up to June 3, 28 cases have been detected and treated with two deaths.

The recent spread of dengue is because of the lack of proper garbage disposal by householders who may have dengue-breeding articles in their compounds.

The Batticaloa Municipality is lighting up the possible garbage dumping areas with LED lights, beginning with Amirthakali and the Palameenmadu Lighthouse area.
