Driver Stabbed in the Neck

A driver was stabbed in the neck with a sharp object in a clash between two groups at a petrol station in Badulla on Sunday (22) afternoon.

“He was admitted to the Badulla General Hospital for treatment,” Police said.

An altercation ensued between two groups after a bus plying on the Colombo-Badulla route pulled up in front of a bus plying on the Welimada-Badulla route parked in a queue to get fuel from a petrol station near the Badulla main bus stand.

Later the driver of the bus plying on the Welimada-Badulla route had been stabbed in the neck allegedly by the driver of the other bus. A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
