UK jobs for Lankan nurses, healthcare professionals

Sri Lankan nurses and other healthcare professionals will be offered professional employment opportunities in the UK healthcare sector under a newly signed MoU between the two countries.

A Memorandum of Understanding on Health Care Cooperation between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom was signed at the External Affairs Ministry recently.

A qualification accepted by the United Kingdom is compulsory including the passing of the IELTS English Language Proficiency Test to be considered for employment, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) said.

Foreign Employment Promotion and Market Diversification State Minister Piyankara Jayaratne and Health Ministry Secretary Dr.S.H.Munasinghe and Minister of State for South Asia, United Nations and Commonwealth Tariq Ahmad signed behalf of the UK signed the MoU.
