IHB creates industry wide impact in Pakistan

The Institute of Hairdressers and Beauticians (IHB), a premier hair and beauty education brand across the South Asian region, continued to make great strides in the hair and beauty industry in Pakistan in 2021, upon their formal entry into the country with the landmark partnership between IHB Education (global) and renowned Pakistan-based beauty school Munaizah Bhakat Academy.

In a recent month-long visit to the new IHB academy in Hyderabad, Pakistan, IHB Founder and Chairperson Nayana Karunaratne offered training and assisted over three batches in revising their skills and technical knowledge (virtually) while preparing them for their exams and graduation.

The highly successful graduation ceremony was held at the Marriott Hotel, Hyderabad, Pakistan and was graced by the Minister of Women’s Affairs and a host of other distinguished guests plus industry professionals, while also drawing the attention of top industry names including Wella Pakistan as education partners for hair colour and OPI for nail care.

IHB Founder Nayana Karunaratne stated, ‘Hair and Beauty as a profession is ideally suited to empower women in terms of employment and economic stability, as it allows women to stay at home and look after their families while also working flexibly or part-time, and so it suits the Pakistani woman. On their entry to Pakistan,  Karunaratne expressed her gratitude to the Trade Attaché of The High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka for her assistance in formalizing all necessary ties throughout.

Speaking on the relationship with local partner Munaizah Bhakat Academy, she stated, “We are extremely pleased with our continued success in Pakistan with hundreds of students receiving a truly international education in hair and beauty, and honoured by the cordial and professional relationship surrounding our continued partnership with Munaizah Bhakat  Academy.” She also expressed that IHB hopes to take their brand of education all across Pakistan in improving the standard of the hair and beauty industry countrywide, particularly in collaboration with the government-supported program for empowering women.
