The top five students in the island who obtained the highest results in the GCE Ordinary Level Examination, 2020 and two visually impaired children who, for the first time in history obtained 9 ‘A’ passes at the exam met Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Parliament premises yesterday.
Sayurangi Tharushika Devmini Premasiri of Mahamaya Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy, R. Pahanma Upani Lenora of Sangamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Galle, R. Oshadhi Sandeepa from Sripali Maha Vidyalaya, Horana., Srinamathurai Sinthanachelvan of Ramanathan Hindu Balika Vidyalaya and D. Nipun Dinuka Adhikari of De Mazenod College, Kandana, met Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa as the highest achievers at the OL exam in the island.
The Prime Minister inquired about the facilities required for Brian Kingston of Ratmalana College for the Blind and Palakrishnan Krishnan Pirasopan of Shivananda Vidyalaya, Batticaloa, who obtained 9 ‘A’ passes and congratulated them on their achievement. The Prime Minister also inquired about the wellbeing and needs of Dewmi Ransara Rajapaksa from Sadhdharmaraja Maha Vidyalaya, Matara, a student with congenital physical disorders who could not attend yesterday’s event.
