Completing a decade of excellence

Leeds International School is one of the prominent brand names among the prestigious private school networks of Sri Lanka. The Matugama branch is one of the main pillars contributing to it’s success and glory since its early days.

Leeds Matugama, has completed a decade of excellence in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities.

The school is proud of its school community including students, parents and a well experienced staff dedicated to creating an academically rigorous, culturally caring, inclusive learning and teaching environment.

The school was originally established in the year 2011 with the fullest support of our Chairman and Founder, Deshamanya Dr. Sarath Jayatissa. The Co-founder and the former principal Swarnaki Gunawardana has also been instrumental when it comes to the success of the school.

At present, the school is well equipped with a number of facilities including new spacious buildings, home science room, a well-equipped science laboratory and a computer laboratory creating a child friendly environment.

They have reached academic excellence by producing 100 percent results in the G.C.E Ordinary Level examination continuously for three years. It must be mentioned that they have many achievements in district and national level too.

At Leeds Matugama priority is also given to extracurricular and co- curricular activities. Sports include Karate, Badminton, Athletics, Chess and Swimming. Students have equal opportunity to engage in such activities.

The school management includes the present principal Dilini Senevirathne, the administrative staff and teachers who are committed when it comes to providing a supportive and challenging learning environment where all students can succeed and reach their full potential.
