The process of conducting PCR tests for passengers arriving at the BIA has not been stopped, said Airport and Aviation Services Deputy Chairman Rajiv Suriyarachchi.
The Deputy Chairman pointed out that the reports published that the process of conducting PCR tests had been suspended and that the newly started PCR laboratory had been closed were baseless. “We check those who arrive 14 days after receiving both Covid vaccines. A different method is followed in relation to those who have received one Covid vaccine. We have stated that this report will be given in three hours. There is no change to this,” he added.
But some reports have been delayed and upon searching, it was discovered that some of them were issues related to e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers. “We are working to rectify the situation,” he added.
