Head Coach Mickey Arthur said that the Sri Lankan players have shown a lot of commitment in the past and are determined to perform well in the ICC T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The former South Africa and Pakistan Coach said he is proud of the attitude and the commitment of the Sri Lankan players as they prepare for the biggest T20 showpiece in the world.

“I am so proud of the attitude and the commitment of everybody,” Arthur tweeted yesterday just before the team entered into a secure bio-bubble. “Today we enter our bubble for a camp and in preparation for the tour of Oman and the T20 World Cup.”

“The Sri Lankan players and the staff have now spent 228 days during the last 10 months in a bubble.”

Arthur further added that their main goal is to bring back success to the country as the team will need to play in a qualifying tournament before entering the Super 12s.

“We are determined to get better every day and bring success back to this country,” Arthur concluded his twitter message.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Squad and the support staff moved into a leading hotel in Colombo to commence their period of quarantine before commencing practices from Friday.

The Sri Lanka Squad and the support staff underwent their first PCR test on Sunday with all test results returning negative.

The Sri Lanka Team is set to play a few practice matches in Colombo before their departure to Oman on October 2.
