24-hour AstraZeneca vaccination drive launched

Sri Lanka Army commenced a 24-hour programme to administer AstraZeneca 2nd dose, the Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Army Commander General Shavendra Silva.
 
The program is carried out by the Sri Lanka Army. The vaccination drive was commenced at Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo this morning and it will continue until further notice, the Army Commander further said.
 
The centers will be operating in Western Province from August 1 till August 6, and will be extended if required the Health Ministry stated. 
 
Those who have already received the first dose of AstraZeneca can visit any of these Centres to receive their second dose.
 
Ministry also stated that, there will be separate queues for people above 60years.
 
And the public are requested to bring their national identity card/passport along with their vaccination card.
 
Meanwhile, the vaccination will be administered in following areas:
