The General Secretary of the United National Party Palitha Range Bandara told the Daily News that the National Elections Commission (NEC) will be notified today (15) or tomorrow (16) that party leader, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will be appointed to the post of National List Member of Parliament.
He said that it was a unanimous decision of the UNP Working Committee and party seniors that Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe should represent the National List seat and that Wickremesinghe would most likely be sworn in Parliament on June 23.
